ARCHITECTURE OF TIME

Everyone loves a good comeback. With the 2025 Privé Tank à Guichets, Cartier has resurrected one of its archives' most eccentric pieces. Released in 1928 at the height of the Art Deco era and famously worn by Duke Ellington, the timepiece has no dial and no hands—just two tiny apertures displaying hours and minutes. Nearly a century later its bold minimalism still feels like a challenge to watchmaking writ large.
