Mangala Samaraweera is the current Minister of Information, Media, Ports, and Aviation, Deputy Minister of Education, and one of the principal promoters of the alliance between the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP).
