For this month’s special cover, we are delighted to feature the design of Gir Vihar Eco Resort, Gujarat by Himanshu Patel of d6thD design studio, an epitome of sustainability and contextuality, incorporating rubble stone masonry, load-bearing walls, arches, domes and pitched roofs. It is a project that embodies all the design aspects that GLITZ is always on the lookout for. A design by Prasanna Parvatikar of Cubism Architects & Interiors, the Tamil Nadu bungalow speaks of tradition and culture, an aura achieved via the use of appropriate furniture and architectural elements. Keyur Mewada, Keyur Khorasia and Devang Patel of Elemental Studio Architects incorporated a meticulous understanding of Vastu and focused on the materiality of the brick for the Ahmedabad bungalow. Aparna Kaushik delivered a beautiful masterpiece with the design of a New Delhi bungalow using a warm palette of neutral and natural colours in harmony with the surrounding nature. Natasha Shah & Shruti Zanwar of Between Walls thoughtfully weaves instances from the resident’s love story in the design with the help of a modern colour scheme, striking wall décor and mindful materiality. Nikhil Agrawal, with the Design Atelier team, has modelled a bold yet elegant design using modern and traditional elements, moody colours and bespoke lighting. Chiranjib Patnaik of In-Arc employs rich materials, a two-toned colour scheme and customised designs to craft the warm and welcoming contemporary residence at Cuttack. For his self-designed home in Raipur, Hiten Kothari incorporated skylights, ceiling cut-out and balconies to make most of the challenging and restricted plot space.
