Studying an advance copy of the 2017 HCVS Tyne-Tees Run programme, I was puzzled by entry G82 an “ Austin 440 City van” – what could that possibly be? Upon arrival it looked, at first glance, to be a familiar Morris Ital 440L van from 1984. However, closer inspection revealed it was badged up everywhere as an Austin! That confused me completely, I’d never seen or even heard of
such a van, was it genuine?
