Welcome to the second, much-anticipated, issue of Machine Embroidery!
Individuals and businesses across the country and the world have been adversely affected by the pandemic that began more than 12 months ago now. It impacted on Universal’s magazines too. We all started working from home, learning new skills, and processes from afar. Our printing was affected, and the shipping channels are still running slow with far fewer boats bringing stock to Australia. Fortunately, amongst this backdrop, sewing and crafts have been a real sanity saver and we have been proud to be part of a community that could continue to reach out via social media, while we dug in to our stashes and finished some of those works in progress.
Perhaps you’ve worked through your stash now, and are ready to start some fresh new projects? We hope that the wonderful projects you find in this issue will stimulate your creativity.
Our projects will introduce you to some interesting techniques, such as using 3D foam and a new ribbon work attachment, and our articles will help you with the process of embroidering on leather, a look at 10 more must-have tools and we share some colour theory to encourage your confidence with fabric and thread choices.
Please enjoy this issue, and continue to keep yourself, your family and your friends safe.
Machine Embroidery Description:
Welcome to the very first issue of Machine Embroidery! We are so excited to be sharing projects, advice, guidance and inspiration for your machine embroidery journey.
We invited our talented friends in the world of machine embroidery to share a wide range of projects, presenting a number of different techniques and outcomes. From a darling three-dimensional unicorn made “in the hoop” through to a table runner that showcases how traditional redwork designs and paint markers can complement machine embroidery, I am sure you are going to find much inspiration in the nine fabulous projects.
Without further ado, we invite you to start your journey with us through the pages of this wonderful magazine.
