These are the new designers to watch out for at LFW Winter 2016
Suprisingly, one of the hottest shows every season at Lakme Fashion Week happens first thing in the morning of Day 1. It's the Gen Next showcase, when a select group of debutante designers get the opportunity to showcase their creations to the hungry audiences of fashion week. With previous stars including Rahul Mishra and Masaba Gupta, we've got high hopes for this lot. Here's who made the cut for this season
Designer Abhishek Paatni’s CV includes a stint at Mr Button and Blackberrys before he started his own menswear label. Bringing together casual streetstyle and fine tailoring, this is one to snap up for your better half.
Chandigarh-based Anupreet Sidhu experiments with unusual materials like metal and wood yet the result is still a very wearable range of stylish separates.
Diming Rubu’s Gen Next collection ‘The Missing Piece’ is a range of sleek, minimal dresses and separates that are perfect to channel a bit of normcore-meets-ladylike chic.
Khanijo’s menswear designers are geared towards what designer Gaurav Khanijo describes as ‘the true Indian dandy’. Men who like their handloom fabrics—think matka and tussar silk—on modern, western silhouettes.
The Jaipur-based designer trained under Tarun Tahiliani before she launched her eponymous label. Tarun’s influence is evident in her appreciation for clean, unfussy silhouettes while her deft hand woven fabrics and love for beading is her own.
With a CV that includes names like All Saints and True Religion, it’s no wonder this menswear designer’s got an eye for detailing and a good fit. The result is a range of coats, shirts, Jodhpur-style trousers and bomber jackets that even we would like to slip into.
