Liverpool star, on 25 goals and 16 assists, hopes to cap term with another league title
-
Forward Mohamed Salah continued to make the case that this is his greatest season ever and his personal favourite, following Liverpool's 2-0 English Premier League victory at Manchester City on Feb 23.
Salah scored the Reds' first goal his 25th in the league this campaign - and set up the second for midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai as they moved 11 points clear at the top, putting his name alongside a few records in the process.
The Egyptian has become the first player in EPL history to be involved in 40-plus goals in two different seasons, with 25 goals and 16 assists this term after 32 goals and 10 assists in 2017-18.
"I don't know," Salah said, when asked if he was playing at his bestever level.
"It is opinion. Maybe people prefer my first seasons or now, but I prefer now because (closing on) winning the league, helping the young players, it is special. We need another title. Me and the big guys in the team, we need another title." Salah, captain Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-
Arnold and Andy Robertson were all part of the Liverpool side who ended a 30-year wait to win the title in 2020.
