Addressing a political rally at Gazole in Malda, which centred on what she described as the "protection of voters' rights in West Bengal," the Chief Minister alleged that the SIR exercise was being misused as a political tool.

"No matter how hard you try, reaching your goal is now a far cry. By engaging in SIR, you have dug your own grave," Miss Banerjee said, launching a direct attack on the BJP.
