In a state-of-the-art surgical theatre at Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital, Xiamen University (XMCH), the future of heart surgery is already taking shape.
Here, robots—not human hands—are repairing and replacing faulty heart valves, offering a glimpse into the next decade of precision medicine. Soon, a group of Indian cardiologists will be at the forefront of this medical revolution.
The Chinese government-run hospital, located in Xiamen—a sub-provincial city in Fujian province that is steadily expanding its global influence—has announced a new opportunity for approximately 50 Indian doctors who have completed their DM in Cardiology or Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch) in Cardiac Surgery to train in one of the world's most advanced robotic cardiovascular programmes.
