Gilas Pilipinas Youth bowed to unbeaten New Zealand, 85-54, to settle for Group B third-place finish entering the next round of the 2025 FIBA U16 Asia Cup yesterday at the Buyant Ukhaa Sport Complex in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Up against the world No. 15 squad, the 35th-ranked Filipinos stared at a dismal 1-15 start and hardly got into the fight in the 31-point defeat.
Gilas finished with a 1-2 slate in their group and will face No. 94 Bahrain (second in Group A) in the qualification to the quarterfinals today.
