More than half railways e-ticket requests fake

AMID ever-rising demand for train travel, the Indian Railways identified and denied access to over 60 billion spurious attempts to its e-ticketing system out of more than 97.53 billion requests made for access during the last six months of 2025.
By promptly detecting and filtering such fraudulent attempts, the Railways allowed bookings through the e-ticketing system for only 37.1 billion requests, while the remaining requests were identified as bots. The highest number of requests, nearly 24.04 billion, was recorded in October 2025, traditionally one of India’s busiest months due to Dussehra and other celebrations, when demand for train tickets soars high.
