5 Killed & 34 Injured in Blast at Cracker Factory in Punjab's Muktsar District

FIVE people were killed and 34 injured in a blast in a two-storey firecracker factory at Fatuhiwala village in Muktsar district of Punjab early on Friday.
Police said the incident occurred around 1 a.m. when about 40 workers were engaged in the production and packaging of firecrackers. The force of the blast was so intense that it brought down the double-storey structure, trapping many under the debris. Most of the factory workers were migrants from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The identities of the deceased have not been confirmed yet.
