Wrestler takes part in virtual flight

- TAYLOR MURRAY

A legendary Scottish wrestler has taken off and joined Ascent Aviation in Paisley for WorldFlight 2025.

Stevenston TV and radio personality Grado had his head in the virtual clouds for a week-long global flight simulator challenge to raise funds for Beatson Cancer Charity.

The Ascent team - made up of commercial pilots, private pilots, flight instructors and trainees-has been operating a virtual round-the-world flight from Sydney, Australia, and back.

It operated every hour for seven days.

The challenge, which has raised around $1 million for healthcare charities worldwide since its inception in 1999, brings together more than 100 simulators globally - each representing a chosen charity.

With Paisley a host this year, Grado - who has long been a supporter of Beatson Cancer Charity - says he couldn't wait to be involved.

He said: “I am absolutely ecstatic to be taking part in WorldFlight 2025 with Ascent Aviation.
