DOMESTIC ABUSE OFFENDER 'BLAMES VICTIM' OVER ATTACK
A CLEVELAND Police officer turned domestic abuser continues to blame his victim over an attack that has seen him get the sack.
Last week Det Cons Philip Lamb faced an accelerated misconduct hearing after his conviction at Teesside Crown Court for attacking the woman in 2023.
The 47-year-old’s actions were deemed “so serious” that they amounted to gross misconduct and he was barred from policing.
A hearing report published on the Cleveland Police website, has released more information about the attack and how the Billingham man “largely presents himself as a victim and continues to blame the victim for whom he has been convicted of assaulting”.
The misconduct hearing was held in public on Friday, but DC Lamb, who had been an officer for 23 years with Cleveland Police, did not attend the hearing and therefore did not give evidence.
However, he provided a Regulation 54 response which states that “he does not accept his conduct amounts to gross misconduct”.
The document outlines the circumstances which led to the conviction.
On September 14, 2023, DC Lamb had a “verbal altercation” with the woman.
“Whilst leaving the house, he grabbed by her arms and pushed her back into the house leaving her with bruising to her arms,” the report adds.
