HOAX | Bomb Threat caused emergency landing of Air India flight

Panic erupted at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi on Wednesday after an Air India Express flight from Mumbai made an emergency landing following a bomb threat. The warning, received through an email, claimed that an explosive device had been planted on board.

According to officials, Air India Express flight IX-942 had taken off from Mumbai early in the morning and was nearing Varanasi when the local Air Traffic Control (ATC) received the threatening email. The message alleged that a bomb was hidden inside the aircraft and would be detonated midair. ATC immediately alerted the pilots, who requested priority landing clearance.
