Why Practical Skills Are More Valuable Than Ever in a Competitive Job Market

Modern times have put forth unprecedented challenges for students, where they need to outperform theoretically and also be comfortable with practical aspects of their course. A student studying engineering learned to build solutions to the problems on the job. However, today a mechanical engineering student learns to manufacture an e-rickshaw or design a car, whereas a student studying paramedical science is required to compulsorily undergo training in tandem with their education, as part of the curriculum.

Such practical-based education is the need of the hour, and Action Learning Programs are a necessity for most of the courses. This enables students to learn teamwork, creatively work on solutions, tackle difficult situations, and become job-ready once they pass out of college. The New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 also underlines the importance of improving the quality of education with a special focus on skill-based education. Students must learn about the practical aspects of their subject of choice, instead of just rote learning theories.
