Marquez looking to crown MotoGP comeback with title

Marc Marquez (pictured) said he wanted to celebrate his “second life” in MotoGP by clinching his first world title since 2019 this weekend in Japan after a nightmare struggle with injuries.

The Spanish Ducati rider can win his seventh world title if he finishes the weekend in Motegi with at least three more points than his brother and nearest rival Alex Marquez.

The 32 year old is back on top after an injury saga that began when he broke his right arm in 2020 and almost convinced him to hang up his helmet.

Marquez has a huge championship lead over his brother and still has five weekends left to clinch the title if he fails to get the job done in Japan.

But he said he is looking to “celebrate something big” this weekend after coming back from what he described as the biggest challenge of his career.
