SHANE LOWRY flew home from the US PGA a frustrated figure after being chewed up and spat out by Quail Hollow.

But the Irishman still departed not too downhearted as he looks forward to the huge few months that lie ahead.

While close friend Rory Mcllroy is a four-time winner at the course in Charlotte, North Carolina, Lowry feels he just cannot catch a break at the place.

Now he must take stock and regroup with The Open taking place at Royal Portrush in July and then the Ryder Cup on the horizon in September at Bethpage Black, New York.

Lowry has certainly been through the mill in recent weeks. He saw his Masters challenge fade on the final day and stormed out of his interview.
