South Shields manager Ian Watson has given an insight into the mindset his players are showing during their bid for promotion into the National League.

The Mariners have enjoyed an overwhelmingly successful opening four months to Watson's reign and head into Saturday's home game with Peterborough Sports sitting at the top of the National League North table. Tuesday's impressive 3-0 win at Worksop Town means Watson's men have a two-point advantage on nearest rivals AFC Fylde and their form during the campaign has fuelled talk of how life could look in non-league's top tier next season.
Although excited by a number of aspects of his side's performance against the Tigers, Watson was keen to quell talk of what can lie ahead of the end of the season.
