|July 03, 2025
DETECTIVES have released a detailed description of a suspect as they seek witnesses after a girl was attacked on the Tarka Trail near Bideford.
The teenager was walking between the Iron Bridge and Heritage Railway Station, towards Bideford, when a man grabbed her and pulled her towards the bushes at around 5pm on Wednesday, June 25.
The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 30 to 40 years old, with wrinkled, dirty facial skin, distinctly perfect white teeth and pronounced drawn-down cheekbones.
He had messy dark blond hair of average/short length, large hands without hair and short chubby fingers. He also had a deep voice.
At the beginning of the incident, the suspect was wearing black work trousers with a pocket on the left leg which had a black button, and a plain white top without sleeves which was long and baggy.
