Giants and Jets set to collide after encouraging preseason openers
New York Amsterdam News
|August 14, 2025
NFL head coaches are inherently critical to the degree of obsessiveness, but it is a requisite characteristic that exposes minuscule details of individual players and the collective team, which can be the difference between wins and losses, between success and failure.
The Giants and Jets held joint practices on Tuesday and yesterday at the Jets' training facilities in Florham Park, N.J., days before they will play each other on Saturday at MetLife Stadium, their shared regular-season home. It will be the second preseason game for both teams after solid openers. The Giants defeated the Green Bay Packers on the road last Saturday night, 30-10, and the Giants took down the Buffalo Bills upstate earlier in the day, 34-25. However, their respective head coaches—Brian Daboll for the Giants and the Jets' first-year head coach Aaron Glenn — saw many areas in need of improvement to build on what were two of the worst records in the NFL last season. The Giants were 3-14 and the Jets 5-12.
