United's most senior former player tells of pride at emotional VIP return

UNITED'S oldest living former player has told of his pride after being treated to a VIP tour of the football club's Old Trafford stadium.

Tommy Heron, now aged 89, was given the five-star treatment and even met United's new signing Benjamin Sesko.

Tommy signed for United in 1958 and was a member of the squad until 1961.

He made three senior appearances for the Red Devils at left-back just after the Munich Air Disaster.

Orginally from Irvine in Scotland, he moved on to York City in 1961, where he went on to play 192 times. Tommy also played for Altrincham, Hyde United and Droylsden during his playing career, before retiring in 1970.
