Noel's 'best guitar in the world' sells for £226k...with Liam's tambourine also fetching a tidy sum

NOEL Gallagher called it "the best guitar in the world". Now it has sold for an astonishing £226,800.

And a tambourine used by his brother and bandmate, Liam, fetched £6,300.

The Oasis singer-songwriter's custom Silver Sparkle Gibson Les Paul Florentine guitar was on sale for between £200k and £400k. It was used in the recording of the third Oasis album Be Here Now, released in August 1997.

Auctioneers Propstore said it is one of Gallagher's primary guitars from the Oasis era and believed to be the one he played most often during that part of his career.
