Woman held after man stabbed to death in his home

Suspect, 24, arrested as victim found unconscious

GARDAI were last night questioning a woman after a man was stabbed to death in his own house.

Local sources last night identified the victim as Pavel Javorski who had been living in the house in Carrick-on-Suir in Co Tipperary.

Gardai said the victim, who is in his late 40s and originally from Czechia, formerly the Czech Republic, had been the victim of an assault at the property on O'Callaghan's Lane.

But sources have confirmed detectives believe he was stabbed.

POSTMORTEM

A postmortem, which was due to take place last night, will determine if the case is to be upgraded to murder.
