DAVE Heffernan says Connacht will improve on an “unacceptable” last season - and they are ready for the hostile cauldron that will be the Arms Park as they shake off last week's frustration.

The province's players went to bed last Friday night expecting to face Scarlets the following lunchtime in the URC in Galway, only for Storm Amy to put paid to the Welsh club's travel plans.

That postponement messed up Stuart Lancaster's (inset) selection spreadsheet for the first block of games but the westerners want that second win of the campaign tonight after the opening defeat of Benetton.

“It's always a cauldron going to Wales, anywhere over there,” said. “The crowd is always very hostile but it's enjoyable. I don't know the ins and outs of what's going on over there.
