One afternoon I went up to the ward with a bunch of grapes to find his evil long-term mistress sitting there.

A huge row ensued with my husband sobbing between us. In the end, an angry nurse asked us both to leave.

During his recovery, back at home, my husband kept saying that he was turning over a new leaf - no more smoking, drinking or other women.

He promised me exciting holidays and a hot sex life. Nothing changed. Eventually he returned to his high-pressure job and fell straight back into his bad habits, with a new mistress emerging.

Now I've threatened to walk and I'm hearing the same old promises all over again.
