O'BRIEN SAYS LEINSTER WILL BOUNCE BACK

JIMMY O'Brien says there is an onus on Leinster fronting up and taking points home from South Africa after the “100 per cent shock" of getting nilled in their URC opener.

- By MICHAEL SCULLY

The title holders trailed 9-0 at halftime in Cape Town in the first game of the new season but the Stormers drove home their obvious superiority in the second half.

“It was a 100 per cent shock,” said O'Brien. “It's rare that happens with Leinster. The last time, someone was saying, was 2008 or something that we hadn't scored a point, which is mental - not a thing you want to have or be part of a team that it happens to.

“It was pretty frustrating. The whole squad, even the lads who weren't playing, were very disappointed about our performance. All the lads who played were all very disappointed in what we put out on that pitch.

“We were pretty low over the weekend. We did our review of it on Sunday when we got to Pretoria, watched it back as a squad and talked about what we thought went wrong. It was open to the floor for anyone to say anything.
