'Difficult conversation on Ray exit...it's never easy'

RTE's Director of Audio has responded to Ray D'Arcy's shock exit from Radio 1.

It was announced on Thursday that the longtime broadcaster has left the station after 11 years.

However, Ray released a surprising statement about his exit, saying he was "hugely disappointed with RTE management", explaining that he was not happy with how his departure was handled.

Now, Patricia Monahan has given her view on Ray's comments. She said there was "difficult conversations to be had" and "that's never easy for anybody."
