A FATHER is facing a life sentence after admitting to murdering his eight-year-old daughter and attempting to murder his wife.

Muhammed Al Shaker Al Tamimi, 35, of Lower William Street, New Ross, Co Wexford, appeared before the Central Criminal Court for a brief arraignment yesterday.

He was charged that on December 1, 2024 at Lower William Street in New Ross, he murdered his daughter Malika Al Katib and, on the same date and location, attempted to murder his wife Aisha Al Katib, 31.

The mother and child were attacked and stabbed in the house during the horrific incident.
