Hodgson: England need to go out and shut a few people up

Josh Hodgson believes this autumn’s Ashes series is a 'really good chance' for England to go out and 'shut a few people up'.

England, recent Test winners over both Samoa and Tonga, host Australia in a three-match series starting on Saturday, with the first Test at Wembley.

The second and third Tests follow at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium and Leeds Rhinos’ Headingley - with both venues sold out.

The expectation, certainly Down Under, is that England, who last met the Kangaroos in the 2017 Rugby League World Cup final, will get 'whitewashed'.

But Hodgson, who played for Hull FC, Hull KR, and NRL outfit Canberra Raiders, not to mention England, thinks differently, with the former hooker stating the series is a big opportunity for Shaun Wane’s side to show they are still a big player in the international game.
