Din in Odisha assembly over deletion of 'secular', 'socialist' from Preamble

The Odisha assembly on Tuesday witnessed ruckus after the opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Congress targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of allegedly omitting the words "secular" and "socialist" from the copy of the Constitution displayed in the assembly complex.
After obituary references were made, speaker Surama Padhy allowed the Question Hour to begin. However, BJD and Congress MLAs trooped into the well of the House to protest.
Alleging that "secular" and "socialist" words are missing in the replica of the Constitution which was on display near one of the entry points of the House, BJD members demanded that the government correct this immediately as November 26 is celebrated as the Constitution Day in the country.
