Cognitive health solves workplace gender gaps
Gulf Today
|December 05, 2025
Seriously heed the study of women's health which includes brain health, unselfishly and sincerely push for and implement well-meaning policies, and the ages-long battle cry towards an egalitarian global workforce shall be solved, said a cognitive neuroscientist, optimistic for women at the workplace in 2026.
The cognitive neuroscientist is Prime Performance Lab (Dubai) Chief Performance coach, Samira Cutts. She has 23 years of clinical background, including nine years of research, involving women between the ages of 25 and 60 in the “high-demand sectors” of government and policy, healthcare, banking and finance, law, education, architecture, and sport. “Equality is possible. But not automatic,” said Cutts, interviewed as to how neuroscience and particularly cognitive neuroscience help resolve overwhelming gender gaps. Background is the International Women's Day 2025 (March)-released “Women and the Economy: 30 years After the Beijing Declaration,” a vivid revelation that despite years of clanging, “while more young women are pursuing education and training” no “significant labour gains” have been recorded as “women hold just 30 per cent of managerial positions globally, with only a modest improvement over the past two decades.”
Moreover, working age women at the labour force in 2024 was only at 46.4 per cent vis-à-vis 69.5 per cent of men globally.
