The education department of the Punjab province has abolished 44,000 postsof governmentschool teachers as part of its outsourcing campaign to the private sector.
The move adds to the existing challenges and struggles for the citizens, who are faced with a towering inflation crisis, which is getting aggravated by consistentjob lossesinthe private sector, and now the government sectors as well.
Onthe other hand, teachers say such a deci-sion would result in increasing unemployment ‘among youth in the province.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the establishment of Pakistan's first Artificial Intelligence (Al) Univer-sity in Lahore, stating that the initiative is set to transform the future of education nthe country.
Speaking at the Fourth Edition of the Anta-lya Diplomacy Forum 2085 in Turkey, Maryam emphasised the global need for a renewed commitment to girls’ education.
She said the Al-focused educationalinitiatives in Punjab represent a significant step forward in reshaping traditional learning models to meet the demands of the 21st century.
