GLOUCESTER have confirmed the signing of Newcastle Falcons full-back Ben Redshaw ahead of the 2025/26 season, with the 20-year-old arriving at Kingsholm as a replacement for Bath-bound Argentina star Santi Carreras.

Redshaw is the latest confirmed signing as part of a rebuild of Gloucester’s back line, following the additions of Irish international fly-half Ross Byrne, one-cap England international centre Will Joseph and winger Ben Loader, with Gareth Anscombe and Chris Harris expected to join Carreras, Charlie Chapman and Christian Wade through the exit door this summer.

A product of Sedbergh School, Redshaw rose through the junior ranks at Newcastle to make his first-team debut against Bedford Blues in the Premiership Rugby Cup in 2023, going on to make 21 appearances for the club over the last two seasons. In an impressive debut season for Newcastle, Redshaw won their Academy Player of the Year and Try of the Season.

Capped at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-20 level for England, Redshaw was a key part in their World Rugby Under-20 Championship win in South Africa last summer. At 18, Redshaw spent time in England’s pre-Rugby World Cup 2023 training camp in France having been marked out as a player with huge potential.
