Scotland must have an election, says Labour with Yousaf set to quit

LABOUR today demanded an election in Scotland as First Minister Humza Yousaf’s leadership collapsed.
The Scottish National Party leader was expected to resign today rather than risk facing a no-confidence vote and was making a statement at noon.
He had been under increasing pressure to step down since the collapse of his party’s power-sharing deal with the Scottish Greens last Thursday.
Two confidence votes on Mr Yousaf’s authority had been called for this week — one in him personally and another in his government called by Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar.
