Sue Wilkinson on the BBC's newest quiz show
-
What the world needs now is another TV quiz show but more than that - one that brings out the worst in people, where they have to lie, cheat and, ultimately, betray one another.
Which BBC executive, loaded with our licence fee cash and nothing at stake, thought that was a great concept that would have viewers watching in their millions?
The name - The Inner Circle - excludes all those not on it or hosting it. What inclusivity and diversity, BBC?
Presumably, the same person who thought this up made The Traitors or had watched ITV's Golden Balls in the 2000s.
Because that is what The Inner Circle is - a rip off of the Jasper Carrott-hosted ITV game show, only with questions and a worse host - or hostess.
What's more, the BBC producers thought it was such a good idea they have made two versions and are showing them at the same time.
