When we will know who has won elections

LINCOLNSHIRE will go to the polls in a historic election on Thursday, May 1, to choose both the first Mayor and the county council.

Polling will close at 10pm and local councils will immediately begin the counting process, leading to results trickling in through the night and next day.

The Mayoral result should come first, in the early hours of Friday morning, followed by all 70 Lincolnshire County Council races over the next 12 hours. Local Democracy Reporters will be at the counts providing live updates, which will be available on X/Twitter.

The polls will close at 10pm, with each local authority verifying and counting their own ballots for the mayoral races first with hundreds of volunteers working through the night.
