Why assisted dying Bill must get MPs' support

A DAY will come when assisted dying is established in law - although future generations may wonder why it took so long to give those in the last throes of terminal illness the choice to end their lives.

MPs today should not derail Kim Leadbeater's attempt to change the law, but should let her Bill continue on its journey to the statute book.

This is not the time for parliamentary chicanery, but for a sensible reform which will strengthen our compassionate society.
