AS a big fan of Sir Alex Ferguson, creating "sustained success" is now Matty Peet's masterplan for Grand Final victors Wigan.

Ruthless Warriors produced a pitch-perfect display at the home of Manchester United to deliver their first Super League title since 2018.

For Reds fan Peet, who started as a volunteer scholarship assistant coach at hometown Wigan before a remarkable rise to first-team boss, it could not have been scripted better.

But having nailed the Challenge Cup in his debut season as head coach last year and now added the League Leaders' Shield and Old Trafford glory, he knows it is not enough. With billionaire businessman Mike Danson taking over next month, Wigan expect more trophies.
