A TORY MP accused of rape dodged a thorough investigation after the Conservative Party covered it up and left him free to attack up to five more women, it has been alleged.

Deputy PM Oliver Dowden rejected any hush-up but did not deny the sex attack claims about an unnamed politician were true.

Mr Dowden, also a former party chairman, told BBC1's Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg: "These are very serious allegations and I want to reassure that the Conservative Party takes them exceptionally seriously." He also urged anyone with "concerns" to go to police.
