A TEACHER has been banned from the classroom for failing to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with a colleague.
-
A Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) misconduct panel found Jonathon McCreery guilty of unacceptable professional conduct which was sexually motivated while he was working at Looe Community Academy in East Looe, Cornwall.
The hearings held on January 26 and February 17 this year found the 36-year-old PE teacher guilty of sending inappropriate messages to his female colleague, including addressing her as “babe” telling her she was “extremely good-looking” and suggesting she must have “noticed him looking at her”.
On other occasions Mr McCreery suggested they find somewhere “quiet for a cuddle” and, after being told: “It’s a school; there are no quiet places”, he mentioned “that little cupboard in our tutor room” with a winking emoji.
