WHAT started out as one small neighbourhood pizzeria in Manchester ten years ago has snowballed into 35 sites around the UK, the latest of which has now opened in Bristol.

And, judging by the queue out the door when we arrived, its arrival in Baldwin Street is certainly making waves.

Rudy's - named after the founder's dog - has taken over a city centre site that remained empty for five years after the pandemic.

Before that, it was a branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland although any former customers will find the place completely unrecognisable.

‘There is a pavement terrace partially covered by a black and white striped awning and huge floor-to-ceiling windows at the front where the old ATMs used to be.

Inside, the old bank has been stripped back to its bare bones with exposed brick walls, polished concrete floors and stone pillars.
