Couple died after being caught in flash floods

A MIDLAND couple had been planning their return to the UK when they were killed in ‘catastrophic’ flash floods in Spain.

Expats Donald and Terry Turner were found dead in their car, days after torrential rain began to batter Valencia.

The retired couple, originally from Burntwood, had been driving to a petrol station for supplies when they attempted to cross a ford that was one foot wide.

Their car was flipped on its side when a sudden burst of floodwater emerged from uphill, leaving the pair submerged inside.

Donald, 78, and Terry, 74, were reported missing to the Spanish authorities on October 29, 2024.

Tragically, they were found dead in their vehicle a few days later on November 2.
