A CHILD in care was left to feed themselves as those paid for care for them hid away in an attic, a councillor claimed.

As a new report highlighted the difficulties delivering children's services in Dudley, and a councillor said closer monitoring of care placements was needed as he branded the service 'inadequate'.
An emotional Cllr Alex Dale provided the illustration of why he believes staff must closely supervise carers responsible for vulnerable youngsters in the community.
