Watsons to open 55 new stores this year

Watsons Thailand, a subsidiary of the world's largest international health and beauty retailer, plans to open 55 new stores this year, primarily in upcountry locations.

Nuanphan Jayanama, managing director of Watsons Thailand, said while consumer spending has declined amid uncertainties in the business landscape, the company remains optimistic about the health product market, which continues to have potential to grow.

She said the increasing ageing population in Thailand has contributed to the growth of this segment.

Thailand has been considered a fully aged society since 2023, as one in five people is now aged over 60.
