Back in 2022, award-winning Singaporean interior designer Hafi Hakim found himself based in Melbourne, putting his extensive training and years of design experience to use at the interior design arm of an architectural firm. As he led the team and grew the firm from within, something entirely his own started to brew, marking the beginnings of Thexton Smith Interiors, a luxury interior design studio co-founded by Hafi and Nolan Smith just over a year ago.

Specialising in high-end luxury homes and apartments, Thexton 72 Smith Interiors opened its doors with the inaugural Silversea Penthouse project, which was not only featured in the February issue of Tatler Homes Singapore but also shortlisted for multiple accolades at the International Architecture & Design Awards 2023, as well as bringing home the Bronze Award in the A’ Design Award and Competition that same year.

Hafi relocated to Singapore in August 2023, expanding Thexton Smith Interiors’ presence to Asia. As a boutique interior design studio with a love of bespoke luxury and maximalism, not just any office or conventional showroom would do for the firm. Thus, Hafi reimagined the Thexton Smith Interiors’ Singapore outpost as a fabulous “material lab” of sorts.
