THINK OUTSIDE OF THE GARDEN BOX WITH SOCIAL MEDIA GARDENING HACKS.
In the world of viral videos, where cat videos and dance challenges reign supreme, you might be surprised to find that vegetable gardening hacks and gardening videos are netting millions of views. On the social media platform TikTok, for instance, you'll find thousands of clever gardening hack videos that are reshaping the way people grow fruit and vegetables in small and large spaces. From the simple to the creative, the following 10 social media gardening hacks could change the way you approach your veggie patch in the future.
ORGANZA BAGS FOR GARDEN PESTS
Between watering, weeding and mulching, growing vegetables can be a lot of work. That work is made even more difficult if your seedlings are taken down by pests. Aphids, slugs and other bugs love to munch on tiny plants, and all of your hard work could be in vain as your seedlings disappear overnight.
One TikTok user shared a tip that's so simple you'll be surprised you didn't think of it. To take care of your seedlings or budding vegetables and protect them from creatures who want to feast on them, all you need are some small, mesh bags. They are called organza bags, and you can find these bags in dollar stores or on Amazon. They have a small drawstring, and you'll slide the bag over the vegetable or seedling. The bags work well for peppers, tomatoes or other small vegetables, and it lets the vegetable grow while keeping pests out.
Organza bags also help you collect seeds. You'll place the bag over the plant, and as it dries, the seeds fall into the bag.
PLANT AN EGG WITH YOUR TOMATO SEEDLING
If you plan on growing a few tomato plants and always transplant your seedlings after starting them, TikTok has a tip to give your plants a big boost.

BEST IN BREED
The Rex rabbit was first shown in Paris in 1924 and was brought to the United States in the same year. Known as the King of Rabbits, the Rex remains the most used rabbit for pelts, due to its plush coat. The breed was developed in 1919 from a mutation found in a litter of wild rabbits. The mutation had no prominent guard hair, giving the rabbit a softer, denser coat. Like most rabbit breeds, the rex is a docile animal. According to PetMD.com, the average lifespan of a rex is 6 to 8 years, giving it a shorter lifespan than the average 7 to 10-year lifespan of most domestic rabbits.
