Michael Portillo takes a ride through Britain’s post-war history

Dapper dresser Michael Portillo is going full steam ahead again for a new series of his train travelogue, as he criss-crosses the country for an exploration of post-war Britain.

Across 15 episodes, he explores Scotland, Merseyside and the southern counties, and starts with a journey from London's Marylebone Station to Heathrow, via Swindon, Swanage and Yeovilton Air Station.

'It involves some fascinating adventures, including possibly the most dramatic scene we've ever shot!' explains Michael.
