Building a Secure Digital Future: India's Growing Influence in Global Cyber Defense and Innovation
Bisinfotech
|December 2025
In a world of digital advancements and technological reliance, cybersecurity has become increasingly important for nations.
-
As nations, businesses, and individuals grow more dependent on technology, the scale and complexity of cybersecurity. According to the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), cyberattacks on Indian government entities expanded by 138% between 2019 and 2023.
The message is clear that safeguarding India's digital infrastructure is no longer a choice; it is important for national security, business continuity, and public safety. Cybersecurity is not just an IT issue; it is a matter of national strength and strategic independence.
India’s Growing Cyber Footprint
India has emerged as one of the growing digital economies. From mobile bills and e-governance to artificial intelligence and cloud computing, technology now powers each sector of the economic system. More than 86% of families are now connected to the internet, reflecting the exceptional growth under the Digital India initiative. This has enabled human beings to access virtual services at their fingertips, but it has also increased cyber fraud and threats, making cybersecurity a countrywide priority. Cybersecurity incidents in India rose from 10.29 lakh in 2022 to 22.68 lakh in 2024, showing how rapidly the threat environment is evolving. This sharp rise reinforces the urgency for a more secure, intelligence-led cybersecurity framework that can meet India’s growing digital security.
