Summer is finally here, South Africa’s most vibrant season, ushering in bold, vibrant colours and long balmy days. You may have noticed something is a little different for issue 34. Following Summer’s suit, we have relaunched our cover, an exciting step forward for OBJEKT©South Africa.
Our new cover is not the only surprise we have up our sleeve this issue. We are ecstatic to announce that demand is rapidly growing across the country. To cater to this, OBJEKT©South Africa is now officially available in Woolworths. Like our beautiful country, we are blossoming and as we grow, so does our ability to showcase shining local talent.
We feature the Absa L’Atelier winners and their work, basking in that “new ambassador glow” in this issue. We also take a deep dive into The Cliff House on the Garden Route, Sergio Chinelli Architect’s most recent project.
Internationally, we are off on a summer whirlwind, from the exhibition of architect Aldo Rossi’s iconic work in Italy and the glorious Charlotte Perriand in Paris to the rustic luxury of Mezcal at Casa Colorada in Mexico. We top it off with songs and cigarettes, admiring the newly renovated Monkey Island Estate.
